WE’RE SUPER EXCITED TO SEE THE LATEST RELEASE WAVE 2 OVERVIEW FOR MICROSOFT DYNAMICS 365 BUSINESS CENTRAL – HERE’S THE KEY POINTS.
This is for the ‘2020 release wave 2’ – Autumn 2020 release in normal speak – and should hit tenants starting from around October.
There’s not loads of detail just yet, but we’ll be sure to share more information when we have it. For now here’s a rundown of the top features:
Microsoft Teams integration
This should allow us to put access to Business Central from directly within Teams, making collaboration even easier. We already see some great use of Teams in Finance – for example in collaborating on the management accounts from directly within Teams. Being able to feed this with Business Central data will make that process even slicker.
Power Platform integration
As much as we love finance, it’s not the be and end all (don’t tell the accountants!). The real power in Business Central is in hooking it up to your other systems and getting access to your data – no matter where it is in the business. Tighter and wider integrations into Power Platform means better reporting (Power BI), better process automation (Power Automate) and better integration to other systems (Dynamics 365 for Sales). Leaving more time for business owners to focus on the important stuff.
Business Central was MTD compliant from Day 1, but there were some companies with more complex arrangements that still had to do some reporting manually. Now with the introduction of Group VAT compatibility, even more businesses can use Business Central for quick and easy VAT reporting to HMRC.
Geographic expansion into ROI
Our neighbours across the pond in Ireland have now got their own localisation! This is great news for customers that operate in ROI as we can now support local functionality there too. Contact us now if you’ve got Irish operations and want to get your finance system into the cloud!
That’s just a flavour of what’s to come, stay posted for more news and detail as we get it!
